HE SAID YES!
I am allowed to paint our hallway pink (once We have finished all of the plastering) and I couldnt wait to share my joy!
This is a huge milestone in our relationship.
I absolutely love pink interiors but it has to be styled right otherwise it can look like a outdated beauty salon, which may be some people’s cuppa tea, but it ain’t mine!
If you ask Me, pinks, nudes and blushed tones are definitely going to be the colours ‘of the year’ by 2018 given that they are cropping up all over instagram and pinterest. It follows on very well from the metallic/indoor garden trend we have been seeing the past year as pastel tones work so well with metallics, these are perfect examples from Maisons Du Monde.
H&M have some reasonably priced accessories which can be a small luxury when you fancy treating yourself.
My hallway is currently painted in Almond by Dulux, it is a really subtle pale beige colour with a very faint hint of pink/purple, which was unfortunately discontinued.
I have always wanted something a little more striking in the hallway, partly because its the first area you enter through the front door so it would be nice to make a statement. But also because if its painted a pale colour it literally shows up every single mark. These ‘marks’ are mainly from me yanking the hoover around in a rush whilst I strive to be the ultimate housewife, so it needs to be durable and good a hiding the odd scuff!
The floor is a slate effect laminate, We have the original wooden doors the house was built with which I love and We have white satin achitraves, also original I think white satin paint finishes it off the edges beautifully and will compliment the pink toned walls.
I have two beautiful prints on the wall made by my ever so talented friend Lucy, you can view some of her work here. They are bold and contrast well with a pale pastel wall and I would like to keep these as a feature in the hallway.
These are the colours I am considering.
I would appreciate your thoughts/opinions…
