I have been using Boots No7 Total Renewal as part of my skin care routine for 3 years now so it’s about time I did a little review and spread the scoop on this wonderful little product. I started looking into exfoliants to help to brighten my complexion and help to even out my pigmentation.
I had been using a different face scrub but it was just too harsh for my face, I suffer with dry skin and I found this actually made it worse and I ended up looking like a reptile. I did some research into exfoliants with much smaller beads that wouldn’t damage my skin and based on the brilliant product reviews on the Boots website I gave it a chance.
It is usually £11.00 which I believe is a good price for the quality of the product. If that’s over your budget you will quite often find it on a 3 for 2 offer and if you get one of the No7 vouchers which are frequently handed out at Boots you can get £5 off (that’s when i usually stock up).
Boots own description of the product on their website;
‘Aluminium-oxide micro-crystals smooth, refine and renew sweeping away dull cells for incredible radiance from the first time you use it. Within 4 treatments stimulates skin cell renewal to work against fine lines, skin tone evens leaving skin softer, silky to touch and more refined.
Helps to work against the appearance of dark areas, sun damaged or blemish prone skin too. Not to be used on sore sunburnt skin.’
My experience of the product
The product itself is white with a luxurious creamy texture, the exfoliating beads are extremely small similar to grains of sugar. It feels incredibly gentle on the skin and definitely leaves it feeling moisturised and silky. It made a really extreme difference to how bright my skin looked almost immediately. I cant say that it has really helped with my pigmentation that much, because when I got pregnant and it got a lot worse, so I cant really compare it to anything. However, it definitely seems to keep my skin looking brighter and clearing. I have a constant battle with adult acne and quite often have dry skin from blemishes which this product helps to buff away to I can put make up on without it clustering around dry spots.
