It’s that time of the month where I share all of my Birchbox treats with you all.. and don’t forget you can get £5 off your first Birchbox using this link.
Birchbox are working with Vogue for the November box and products that are taken for the Vogue 100 Beauty Hall of Fame, so it’s not one to miss!!
(Don’t forget you can cancel at any time if you think it’s not for you.. no catches)
This month Birchbox teamed up with CoppaFeel Campagin which aims to raise awareness of breast cancer and offers advice on how to check for lumps for early detection, so there was a bit of info included in the box which I though was a nice touch.
Wish CC Body Cream
I thought this was maybe an odd choice to find in an Autumn/Winter box?! For me a CC Body Cream is more of a Summer product when we all wear a bit less make up and have a bit more skin on show. However, I do really like it. It smells amazing, it does help to blend out little marks and blemishes to give a flawless look and it has a golden shimmer which I quite like. This is the kind of thing I am more likely to use on a night out, I think it might just be a bit too glam for how I would usually dress in the day. A great product though and a decent size sample!
Modelco Contour Stick
Although I don’t usually contour my face I was happy to receive this product. I usually wear heavy eye make up so keep the rest of my face fairly neutral, however on days where I have very minimal eye make up I would definitely use this product. Not just on cheek contours but also the eyelid contour and a touch on the forehead for a subtle bronze fresh look. It has a creamy texture that blends in easily if you use a little at a time and it lasts all day. I was also pleased to have the full size version in the box rather than just a sample size. It definitely makes the box worth the money when you get a couple of full size items.
Balanceme Pure Skin Face Wash
I get much more excited over getting skin care items in my Birchbox because I tend to keep my make up the same and I’m quite loyal to those brands, so I was chuffed to get face wash. The sample size was decent at 40ml, you only need a small amount once it has frothed up with water. It felt gentle on my skin, didn’t sting my eyes, left my skin feeling nourished and fresh and I really liked the scent.
R+Co Badlands Dry Shampoo Paste
This is a dry shampoo in a paste form, something I have never really come across and was very interested to try. I was very underwhelmed by the size of the sample pot, it’s that small that I struggle to get my finger in to get any product out! However, the full size product is quite expensive so I wasn’t expecting a huge sample. The product itself has a nice texture, it’s quite a stiff paste that feels a bit gritty, but if you work it between your fingers and then apply it to the roots of your hair if works quite well. I must admit that regular spray dry shampoo is a bit more easy and convenient to use. The most interesting part of this product is that it is made from Hawaiian volcanic ash and is full or natural oils that also help to condition the scalp.
Anatomicals Grab Your Melons Shower Gel
Fitting with the breast cancer awareness theme, this product is exclusive to Birchbox. I got a full size product in my Birchbox (150ml).. much smaller than a regular shower gel, but the perfect size for holiday or popping in a gym bag (not that I go to the gym). Smells amazing and not too sweet and sickly which is normally a problem for me with fruity scented stuff. Left skin feeling very moisturised and I could smell it on my skin long after getting out of the shower!
I would certainly recommend giving Birchbox a go.. even if you just get one to see what its like and don’t forget to use this link for £5 off your first box.
